Hi folks! Just ordered a few Hamshields for use as links (2 meter in, 220 out) and was looking for info on what the duty cycle is for various power levels. As a side note, older documentation indicates a 250 mW output and newer documentation indicates a 500 mW output. I'm sure that when the shields arrive, I can determine this for myself but for the purpose of this discussion, I'd like to be able to establish a mW output to a specific duty cycle. For link transmitters, there is a brief pause between transmissions but is mostly 'key down' about 80-90% of the time. I also have the intent to use these as part of a repeater, which will be 100% 'key down'. Not wanting to fry my brand new hardware (BTDT) I'm hoping to get feedback from hands on user experience or to get some quotes from the most excellent guys who built the shield (you guys certainly rock!). Also wouldn't discourage discussion of using augmented cooling by clipping on some small heat sinks so we can increase the effectiveness of whatever cooling is being used (passive or active).
